The Sri Lankan Leopard is a subspecies with its own genetic distinctions, whose adaptability, alpha predator status, and opportunistic hunting methods make it highly successful at surviving in the wild. Panthera Pardus Kotiya, the distinctively Sri Lankan leopard is the pride of Yala. Yala block one records the highest density of leopards in the world, creating huge chances of sightings.
